France In April 2026
Judy and I are off on another adventure, this time a boat tour of The Seine and Rhone rivers in France. We start in Paris with two days on our own and then cruise north to Normandy, making several stops before returning to Paris. Then, we travel by train to Dijon and board a different boat and sail south to the French Riviera. We’ll spend two days in Cannes before heading home.
Here is a map of the trip to give you an idea of where we’ll be.
We’re looking forward to a calm, relaxing river trip, enjoying the scenery, French food and wine and a chance for rejuvenation. After our experience with snow, delay and sickness in Amsterdam, we’re ready for something a little more low key.
However, we’ve signed up for shore excursions at every stop, including two days at the beginning in Paris and two days at the end in Cannes. Rest and relaxation? We’ll see, but we don’t tend to score very high in the Rest and Relaxation category.
The problem is, we travel to gain an understanding of the people in a country and what life is like there. Sipping Bordeaux on board while viewing the scenery is nice, but to get to know a place requires some leg work.
I’ll send an email each time I make a new blog post. If you already receive my emails, no need to do anything. If you’re not on the list, use the form below to be added. You can also use the form to tell me to take you off the list if you don’t want to be bothered.
